Introduction to the lecturer
Chris Clark is Director of Research at Thin Film Center. He graduated from the University of Sussex with a degree in Electronic Engineering and is a Chartered Engineer. After a Lectureship at Brighton Technical College, he had a distinguished career in computer and software development for a variety of systems from radar detection to optical inspection, before joining Thin Film Center in 1993. His responsibilities include the development of the Essential Macleod software. He has more than twenty publications on the subject of optical coatings.
Course features
The interactive teaching can inspire and develop the design ideas of the students; with the original expert Chris Clark's explanation, the design concept of the Essential Macleod film software is understood deeply, so as to extend to their respective fields to meet the needs of the students.
Introduction to the course

In order to meet the needs of the majority of students, this course is a flexible interactive one and all the students operate on the computer during the course. The course outline can be changed at any time according to the progress of the course as well as the actual needs of students. The course covers film design methods, an understanding of film properties, film preparation processes, reverse engineering, material properties and measurements, film properties in systems, and common film cases, etc. Sponsor provides the Essential Macleod film software during this course, and all can participate regardless of experience of software. The lecturer is the original software developer and has extensive experience in the field of film. Meanwhile, there is time for students to interact and communicate with the lecturer.
