New International Standards< CIE S 02 6/E:2018 CIE System for Metrology of Optical Radiation for ipRGC-Influenced Responses to Light> A quantification of the spectral impact is given, expressed using the retinoid equivalent daylight (D65) illuminance, Melanopic EDI (lx). [The WELL Building Standard Q2 2020 version] In a similar way, using the "retinoid equivalent lux”, That is, EML, as the equivalent lux value of ipRGC in five types of photoreceptor cells EML(Equivalent Melanopic Lux) quantified values and became a quantitative standard for their rhythmic lighting design.
Biological rhythms are controlled by rhythmic genes in the organism. At present, researchers generally believe that the main influencing factors of biological rhythms are time and light, time is unchangeable, while light can be regulated by humans, with different light quality and light quantity at different times of scientific distribution, so that most of the time people are in a healthy and good rhythm level, as one of the design goals of human-centered lighting

Strobe (fluctuation depth)
Strobe or flicker in recent years has gradually been paid attention to and understood by the industry, thanks to the development of a variety of professional instruments that can be specifically analyzed from data on the impact of flicker on vision or health. Strobe hazards despite the controversy, there are different standards, different periods, different institutions proposed different evaluation methods, at present, we are more concerned about the strobe fluctuation depth strobe frequency (Par 1789), SVM and Pst (CIE), fluctuation depth as shown in the figure below right is a 100Hz strobe waveform graph: the peak value is Max, the valley value is Min,
Depth of fluctuation = =(Max-Min)/(Max+min) *100%
The fluctuation depth is the main indicator measured by this machine. The figure below is very typical of the strobe fluctuation waveform, and the last column evaluates the severity of the strobe: this case is more serious (8.2).
Other parameters description:
• Stroboscopic index: the sum of the area of the fluctuation chart beyond the average value and the ratio of the total area.
• Strobe frequency: the frequency of the strobe, when DC or close to DC, the frequency is 0Hz.
• Scan: the actual scanning frequency, scanning frequency range:5-200KHz.
• Channel: signal sampling channel, C0-C7, the higher the illumination channel is smaller, the smaller the sampling time constant, the channel is small suitable for high-frequency measurement, the channel is large high-frequency measurement error will become larger.

• Calculation method (Robert. Lucas et al.):
EML value = Km∫Ee(λ). Nz(λ)dλ. ∫ V(λ)dλ/ ∫ Nz(λ)dλ
EML - equivalent lux of retinoid
Km - constant, the maximum spectral photopic efficacy of bright vision
V(λ) - bright vision spectral photopic energy function
Ee(λ) - absolute spectral energy distribution
Nz(λ) - black-optics spectral photopic energy function
