New International Standards< CIE S 02 6/E:2018 CIE System for Metrology of Optical Radiation for ipRGC-Influenced Responses to Light> A quantification of the spectral impact is given, expressed using the retinoid equivalent daylight (D65) illuminance, Melanopic EDI (lx). [The WELL Building Standard Q2 2020 version] In a similar way, using the "retinoid equivalent lux”, That is, EML, as the equivalent lux value of ipRGC in five types of photoreceptor cells EML(Equivalent Melanopic Lux) quantified values and became a quantitative standard for their rhythmic lighting design.

Biological rhythms are controlled by rhythmic genes in the organism. At present, researchers generally believe that the main influencing factors of biological rhythms are time and light, time is unchangeable, while light can be regulated by humans, with different light quality and light quantity at different times of scientific distribution, so that most of the time people are in a healthy and good rhythm level, as one of the design goals of human-centered lighting

Functional Features
Measurement of strobe/fluctuation depth (optional function)
Measure bright visual illuminance
Measure non-visual illumination
Diagonal angle can be set
Measure spectrum
Spectral measurements
Turn on the device on the home page, press the right button and start measuring the spectral value of the target immediately, the red light on the left side starts to turn off, the device starts to match the test parameters. When sampling is completed, the red light turns on and the spectral graph is displayed, and the color parameters are also output, as shown below in the left figure.
To view the detailed results, press the middle button, which first displays the lower right graph, color rendering index Ra, R1-R15. Press the middle button again to switch to the spectral energy statistics and illuminance, irradiance, and EML EDI values; PPFD is the optical quantum density plot in which this data is 18.571 umol/m^2/S. Blue light irradiance is the result of the convolution of the blue light hazard spectrum weighting function with the spectral energy distribution according to IEC 62471:2006. In order to facilitate the application of the spectrum, the energy distribution percentages of the wavelength interval between UVA and 100 nm are given.

Right click to enter the spectral measurement mode, then press the right button to execute the spectral measurement, view the detailed measurement results by the middle button Left click to exit the spectral mode and return to the main page.

Technical parameters of spectral illuminance meter
1. Based on standards or literature
<CIE S 02 6/E:2018 CIE System for Metrology of Optical Radiation for ipRGC-Influenced Responses to Light>
[The WELL Building Standard Q2 2020 version]
Group standards: T/SIEATA000001-2020

Calculation method (Robert. Lucas et al.):
EML value = Km∫Ee(λ). Nz(λ)dλ. ∫ V(λ)dλ/ ∫ Nz(λ)dλ
EML - equivalent lux of retinoid
Km - constant, the maximum spectral photopic efficacy of bright vision
V(λ) - bright vision spectral photopic energy function
Ee(λ) - absolute spectral energy distribution
Nz(λ) - black-optics spectral photopic energy function
λ --spectral wavelength range: 380-780nm
Melanopic EDI - retinotopic equivalent daylight (D65) illuminance
Melanopic EDI=EML×γ (γ is a constant, γ=0.9063)
